Who We Are

We welcome you to Christ Church Anglican South Bend, a traditional Anglican parish devoted to prayer, biblical teaching, and worship in word and sacrament using the Book of Common Prayer. Our rector is the Rev. Steven McCarthy, and our congregation is part of the Missionary Diocese of CANA East, in the Anglican Church of North America and the Church of Nigeria.

Services

At Christ Church Anglican you will find a warm and vibrant congregation that is committed to hearing and obeying God’s Word and participating in the rich sacramental life of the Anglican tradition. Our Sunday service is sometimes Evening Prayer and sometimes Holy Communion, both from the Book of Common Prayer. Evening Prayer and Holy Communion are celebrated with reverence, including canticles in Anglican chant settings, hymns with organ accompaniment, and a sermon based on readings from Scripture. Our services are marked by hearing, receiving, and singing—hearing the Word of God read and faithfully preached, receiving the sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion in which Jesus Christ offers himself to his Church, and singing praise to God in the beauty of the Anglican musical tradition. Our doctrinal standards are the historic creeds of the church and the Anglican formularies.

At all services childcare is provided for ages six months to three years. We meet at St. Paul’s Memorial UMC, 1001 W Colfax Ave, South Bend, IN 46616. All are invited to join us as we love and serve God together.
